Vintage French farmhouse wire egg/salad basket. These baskets were originally used for harvesting salad greens until they became popular for collecting eggs! People used to cut their greens, put them in the basket, then wash them through the basket, & would shake it to drain them off. Since there's a wire closure at the top the greens wouldn't fly out - like a salad spinner! I love using these baskets for collecting our eggs & for greens!

It features grey matte metal that’s darker in person.
