French Earthenware Faisselle
French Earthenware Faisselle
1 French antique earthenware cheese drainer called a faisselle. This mold is unglazed clay pottery, which is older than the glazed, & it has feet on it. These molds were originally used for cheesemaking. They would pour the curds & whey into the mold to drain out which then made a soft French cheese called "faisselle". I am so in love with collecting these molds since they're unique as well as useful! I love putting candles inside of them so when they're lit the candlelight comes through the holes. You can use them as a soap dish in the bathroom or kitchen, small kitchen utensil holder, twine dispenser, decor on a shelf, match holder, etc.
