Rare 1800's Wood Straining Ladle
Rare 1800's Wood Straining Ladle
Rare antique wood straining ladle from the 1800’s. American. This is a museum quality piece since the only other one I found online is in a West Virginia history museum! (Click here) I’ve never seen a ladle like this before since skimmers don’t have an upright handle & ladles don’t normally have holes in them. I’m guessing it’s for draining foods from a pot or for scooping out fermented foods. The handle is held onto the spoon with an original wood nail. 3 holes in the spoon. It is sturdy & can still be used!
